General Assembly

The General Assembly is an annual event held each spring. Participants gather tools and tips on how to be an effective student leader, advocate, and representative.  They network with other students around the state, receive information on current topics and issues, and debate on resolutions submitted by students at California community colleges that guide the organization.

Next General Assembly:  March 27 - 29, 2025, in San Francisco at the Hyatt Regency.

Advocacy Day

Each spring, the SSCCC hosts Advocacy Day, a morning dedicated towards elevating the student vote. Advocacy Day is an opportunity for students to turn advocacy into action. The day begins with small group visits with our state legislators. It culminates in students meeting directly with their own district representatives to champion local priorities and advance meaningful policy change.

Advocacy Day will be held on Thursday, March 12th, 2026 in Sacramento, California from 9 am to 1 pm. This event compliments the annual March in March event with other coalition partners. The March in March walk and rally will follow the legislative visits in the afternoon.
