The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) Board of Directors supported Proposition 17, a ballot measure heading to the November 2020 ballot that seeks to amend the Constitution of California to allow people who are on parole for felony convictions to vote. Currently, the California Constitution disqualifies people with felonies from voting until their imprisonment and parole are completed. The ballot measure would amend the state constitution to allow people with felonies who are on parole to vote; therefore, the ballot measure would keep imprisonment as a disqualification for voting but remove parole status.

The SSCCC understands the importance of this ballot measure and is pleased to provide a series of tools and materials to inform and support your local advocacy or support of this important ballot measure.
