New Director?
The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) represents the 2.3 million students of the California Community College System in state-level shared governance and legislative advocacy.

The Purpose of the SSCCC is to fulfill the following responsibilities:

To serve as the voice of the students in matters of statewide concern and before the Board of Governors, Consultation Council and all statewide boards, committees, and ad hoc groups.

Foster relationships with district student boards, local student senates, and other statewide agencies or organizations that have a vested interest in student affairs.

Function as a democratically elected and empowered body remaining accountable to its constituency, expressing the general will of the students and following through with its responsibilities.

Provide ongoing and widespread dissemination of information to enhance awareness on statewide issues and maximize input from students.

Engage in strategic advocacy efforts outside of the California Community College system to bolster both public and legislative support for the community colleges. The Mission, Vision, and Core Beliefs of the SSCCC are as follows:

Our Mission
The mission of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges is to pursue policies that will improve student access, promote student success, engage and empower local student leaders, and enrich the collegiate experience for all California community college students.

Our Vision
The guiding vision of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges is to communicate a unified student perspective to relevant constituent groups and elected officials in all matters directly affecting California community college students.

Our Core Beliefs
Access to a high-quality educational environment is a right for all. The welfare and success of future generations of community college students is in our hands. In all things, we take into consideration our accountability to our greater constituency of California community college students. Our primary obligation is to effectively fulfill our role as a system partner in the statewide shared governance and consultation processes. Above all, the long-term sustainability of our organization lies in the integrity of our members and actions and holding steadfast to these principles.
